Project Description
MMS Germany is changing its Supply Chain setup from an single echelon model in which retail store customers are fulfilled out of the 400+ retail stores and the online customers out of the 2 DC’s each covered one brand (Media Markt and Saturn) to an OMNI channel multi echelon model in which a customer can order anywhere and is delivered to anywhere from anywhere irrespective in which sales channel it shops. In this new setup customers can be fulfilled directly from suppliers, from DC’s, from urban hubs and from stores either by a pick-up from store or home delivery. We want to investigate for 2MH products [1] which products should be positioned in which locations, [2] which customer orders should be fulfilled from which stock locations and [3] how to replenish the stock locations with the objective to achieve an optimal performance.
Goals of the Project
Minimize operating cost and working capital while maximizing service levels.
