Company Description
Malvern Panalytical is a manufacturer and supplier of high-tech laboratory analytical instruments. Malvern Panalytical has >2500 employees and production locations in NL, UK, US, CA and CN. Our installed base is spread across the world.
We are fast-growing, international and have a friendly and inclusive culture.
Project Description
Like consumer digital camera’s the technology in the detectors of our instruments change faster than the (mechanical) instruments itself.
These detectors have a different supply chain compared to the rest of the instruments: MP manages the 2nd, 3rd and even 4th tier supply chain.
This works for now, but we fear it is not scalable.
How can we best share supply chain data across the tiers in this not yet mature supply chain?
Goals of the Project
With the supply chain and purchasing teams design a optimal supply chain for detectors. This design should guide Malvern Panalytical for the coming years in shaping that detector supply chain.
Deliverables
A design understood and support by all stakeholders.
Essential Student Knowledge
An interest in high-tech (these detectors are cutting-edge).
An interest in (supply chain) purchasing.
