Project Description
Hilti has a global supply network of 14 Plants, 200 production lines, 150 Allied Suppliers, around 45’000 Replenishment SKUs, 1’200’000 Replenishment lines, 300’000 Inbound Lines, 60’000 Transport Orders.
The entire supply materials management is managed by 7 centrally managed Supply MM teams.
Today we lack a clear approach and benchmarking concept on how to size the Supply MM teams in regard to resources considering effort drivers, service and inventory performance.
Goals of the Project
- Develop fact based and identify effort drivers
- review literature to give a recommendation on a suitable benchmarking concept
- Assess the state-of-the-art counting methods applied in the industry, and
- Recommend a modern, digitally based approach for Hilti.
Deliverables
Recommendation on a benchmarking concept considering all influencing factors.
