Company Description
Caroz, founded in 2000, is a logistics and supply chain management company that specializes in providing innovative and efficient transportation solutions for businesses. It operates as a fourth-party logistics provider (4PL), meaning it serves as a strategic partner that integrates and manages all aspects of a company’s supply chain operations. This includes transportation, warehousing, procurement, and digital tools for enhanced visibility and optimization.
Caroz’s core strength lies in its use of advanced technology to create transparent and data-driven solutions, enabling businesses to streamline their logistics processes and reduce costs. The company collaborates closely with shippers and carriers to ensure optimal efficiency, sustainability, and alignment with client goals.
Project Description
Caroz is continuously engaged in sales processes with potential customers. Within these sales process potential customers are most of the time able to share data sets about the business in scope. This mainly involved shipment data over a past reference period. This data serves a 2fold goal. One 1 side it allows Caroz to make an estimation of the manpower needed to run the business (which in the end result in a price offer). On the other side it should allow Caroz to make an estimation of the expected savings we believe to be gained, on which spectrums and the probability of achieving these savings. By doing this we providing this additional information in the sales process, we create a big USP by showing our expertise and this can also help us to convince the customer to commence business with Caroz. The downside is that today these exercises are being done manually and case by case and the actual change of winning business is never 100 %. As such this currently causes a lot of work with an unsure outcome.
Goals of the Project
- The goal is to understand which analysis on shipment data leads to meaningful insights to get a quick but good overview about the customer’s supply chain. Based on that we could then imagine having a tool which would automatically analyze shipment data, provide highlights about data anomalies and provide us these meaningful insights.
Deliverables
- A documented overview of all elements within the customers’ supply chains might lead to insights on where potential savings might reside.
- A built tool which is able to process the shipment data based on mandatory and optional data required and provides key analysis / insights about the data.
Essential student knowledge
- Knowledge of supply chain and logistics
- Knowledge in building models
