Project Description
Impact of electric vehicles on international linehauls (<400 km) (middle-mile)
Goals of the project
International groupage volumes are growing, effectively increasing the middle-mile and reducing the first- and last-mile, thereby requiring more coordination and consolidation of freight. This especially in regard to the sustainable journey where impact of electric vehicles may force existing operations to change.
The goal of this project is to come towards a new design of freight consolidation considering the challenges at the hubs (capacity, network congestion, charger availability).
Deliverables
A proposal on the way forward getting to an international groupage network with middle-mile organized by electric vehicles
