Project Description
Project Description:
To foster circular performance, a circular logistics dashboard is developed between a shipper (cargo owner) and its logistic service provider to enable and stimulate more and effective circular processes in their logistics operations. Especially important is the alignment between this dashboard and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), a (new) regulation that strengthens disclosures on a wide range of topics including climate and environmental data in the European Union. While a first version of the dashboard is up and running, further research and development is needed to find more application areas (next to logistic service providers). The ultimate goal is to develop an open source circular logistics dashboard.
Goals of the project:
The project has three main goals. First, from a practical perspective, the circular logistics dashboard needs to be implemented at a number of companies (i.e., shippers (cargo owners) and logistic service providers), and these companies need to receive advice based on the outcomes. Second, when the dashboard is implemented at several companies, an analysis is needed across these companies. Third, advice is searched for to further develop the circular logistics dashboard. There is a special need for suitable data integration (e.g., CSRD).
Because the dashboard needs to be implemented at multiple companies, data collection efforts will be facilitated by, amongst others, Circulair Logistiek netwerk, EvoFenedex, GS1, LINCIT, and ESCF.
Deliverables:
- Advice towards companies on circular logistic processes, based on the outcomes of the dashboard
- Generic analysis of implemented circular logistics dashboard across companies
- Advice on further development of the circular logistics dashboard
Essential student knowledge:
Affinity with closely collaborating with multiple companies, affinity with analyzing data
