Project Description

Are you fascinated by the impact that today’s global supply chains have on every consumer and company in the world? Are you eager to bring the digital possibilities to transform our clients’ operations into customer centric supply chains to not only reduce cost but also enable growth? Are you an ambitious student and looking for a working internship or conducting your Graduation Thesis on the topic of Supply Chain? Then the Supply Chain Internship is what you are looking for!

 You will work within one of the three functions within the supply chain team:

• Sourcing & Procurement
• Industry X (Digital manufacturing and Supply Chain)
• Intelligent Supply Chain Planning & Order Fulfillment

Goals of the Project

We offer two types of internships:

1. Working Internship:

As Supply Chain Intern you will get the chance to experience working as a consultant within Accenture, learn about the projects we do and see the impact we are making for our clients. You will hear all about our colleagues’ personal experiences, get a taste of our company culture and join our great company events!

2. Graduation Thesis Internship

When joining as master thesis intern, you will conduct research into technology and/or topics currently top of mind for supply chain executives. You will be coached on completing your master thesis by one of our consultants and have access to our broad industry and client experience. Some examples (actual topic to be discussed in application phase):

• Factory optimization using reinforcement Learning Algorithms
• Supply Chain Planning using AI
• Technologies influencing sustainable supply chains

Deliverables

Deliverables depend on the type of internship and the final allocation of the project / company you will be working on and will at minimum address:

1. Working Internship:

As you will become part of a running project team, your deliverables will depend on the client and type of project. At minimum, you will deliver a report out – compliant to the University principles and guidelines – to hand in and finalize your internship within the University curriculum

2. Graduation Thesis Internship

As an outcome of your graduation internship, the following deliverables are expected:

• Graduation thesis: you will write up your research and insights in an academic format – compliant to the University principles and guidelines – to hand in as a final deliverable to successfully finalize your Graduation Internship at the University
• Accenture report-out: next to your thesis, you will summarize your findings into a point of view (PoV) that you will present and will be distributed in our internal communities

Optionally and in parallel of conducting research and writing your thesis, you’ll get the opportunity to support on ‘extracurricular’ activities, i.e. organizing events, working on internal communication / PoV materials, etc.

Essential Student Knowledge

• Currently in master’s program, preferably on the cross-section of technology/engineering and business/economics (e.g. engineering, econometrics, operations research, supply chain management, (Beta-)science)
• High grades (avg. > 7,5) during secondary school / Bachelor / Master
• Excellent communicational skills (Dutch and English)
• Proactive, driven individual that is looking to grow
• Affinity with data analytics and related technologies
• Preferably experience with Lean Six Sigma, Process mining, Business Process Management, Operations / Manufacturing excellence
