Ewals Cargo Care currently employs approximately 2.050 employees from 33 locations in 15 countries throughout Europe. The main office is located in Tegelen (near Venlo). You will work in a solid family business that exists for more than 100 years and where communication lines are short. Ewals has grown into a strong international player. Our customers are offered a broad spectrum of logistics products ranging from full loads, part- and project loads, Control Tower set-ups and Value Added Logistics to global forwarding. Especially, but certainly not exclusively, for the transport of full loads we are known for our European multimodal network that includes more than 3500 Mega Huckepack XL(S) trailers. In addition, we can rely on a solid network of partners. Ewals is also continuously improving work processes and investing in the development of our employees.

Within this projects you will have interaction with several departments residing within the organization Ewals, all possessing the right and unique expertise to contribute to the project – functions will vary from Corporate Information Management, Business Intelligence – Reporting, Data Solutions and Product Intelligence.

Project Description

Ewals has composed the so called “Univers” Roadmap in collaboration with the European Supply Chain Form.

Ewals’ ambition is to design a data driven business model, transitioning to a digital internal environment and developing designated Intellectual Property, enabling the exploitation of business-/ artificial intelligence leading to business transparency,- sustainability,- predictability,- cost optimization and margin improvement.

In order to be able to realize its effective, desired, transition; the first step will be assessing what is necessary (and perhaps already available within Ewals) to transition to desired future state.

 

Goals of the Project

The aim of the project is to investigate the extent of necessities and requisites in order to complete the entire roadmap visualized below. More in detail: the project entails an assessment of the status-quo (IST situation) and henceforth determine the desired, future situation (SOLL situation) – that 
automatically sheds lights on the missing, vital pieces in order to successfully fulfill the stated ambition (i.e., data driven business model). Thorough analysis as to the data components needed and current business processes- and landscape constitutes to a feasibility- and GAP analysis to overcome the
 current barriers and potentially application of Artificial Intelligence and hence developing the required IP.
