In a firm’s journey towards servitization, the role of supply chain partners is very important. Indeed, key to become successful in servitization is supply chain integration. Supply chain integration implies that firms need to enhance internal integration and the integration with key suppliers and customers. However, are all three dimensions of supply chain integration equally important? Under what circumstances is internal integration more important than external integration? Under what circumstances is supplier integration more important than customer integration, or vice versa?
Preliminary program
We invited Lely, an international innovative company and leader in the agricultural industry, to share its experiences on its journey towards predictive maintenance. In moving towards servitization, Lely aims to offer customers 100% uptime for Lely products, with no unscheduled breakdowns and limited number of scheduled service visits, along with a minimization of the maintenance costs and a maximization of the product output performance. Moreover, we are inviting a software company to learn more about how companies and especially their service engineers can access the right data at the right place and time.
Servitization allows companies to get closer with their customers by offering products as a service. The importance of predictive maintenance, i.e. using algorithms to predict product failures by identifying casual symptoms to reduce the number of product failures, has been previously noted, as it enables companies to be able to predict and prevent product breakdowns, rather than just react to them.
