Upon completion of this master class, you have a richer understanding of the complexities that companies face in the broad supply chain and logistics domain. The masterclass covers a broad range of timely topics. Key supply chain principles are reviewed and refreshed. This involves the translation of the business strategy into an adequate supply chain strategy, but also defining relevant business models. We discuss several new supply chain trends arising over the past years and are expected to materialize in the future. The increasing role of sustainability in the supply chain is discussed (e.g. cradle-to-cradle, circular economy). As well as other emerging notions and concepts like Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, etc. will be framed within a supply chain setting. We discuss the applicability of these tools, but also explicitly handle the limitations. The domains covered involve Logistics and network design, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Procurement and Sourcing, Forecasting, Transport and Distribution, and Multi-echelon Inventory Management.
