Planning and decision making with Artificial Intelligence
Plans serve many purposes in companies. One of those purposes is decision making – when decisions need to be made, one may consult the plan. However, in a data-driven world plans tend to become outdated quickly, and planning may actually hamper the adoption of nimble data-driven business practices.
This becomes even more true when harnessing the power of AI for decision making. Still, the saying goes: “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” We will experience some of the issues that surround planning and decision making while adopting new technologies.
In April the ESCF High Tech Community had a lively workshop about the improvement of mid-term planning S&OP. Three companies presented their experience Recap of the event in April.
In the upcoming workshop of September 13th, we will discuss how companies organize short-term planning in combination with the order fulfillment process.
We are happy that four companies will be sharing their experience in how to organize these processes and how they deal with disturbances.
The companies presenting will be Sabic, ams-OSRAM, Ampleon and Philips and It will be fun to see how the approaches compare.
Willem van Jaarsveld will take care of the scientific view on this, followed by a break out where you will able to compare your practice with the other members.
