Location: Online event

In the last couple of years, the Data2Move community has made considerable progress on using data for better logistics – translating to increased efficiency, lower cost, smarter inventory control, as well as higher customer satisfaction. While these topics remain equally relevant today, it is time to look beyond purely economic benefits. What are the societal responsibilities of the logistics sector? Can we design our business models to reconcile economic and societal benefits? And, importantly, how can data help?

Program:

13:00 – 13:30: Presentation by Bart van Riessen, Poort 8:

One of the speakers is Bart van Riessen, founder of Poort8. As an expert in the field, he will inform us of the challenges, opportunities and societal benefits of data sharing in logistics.

Data sharing is an important concept that offers prospects if we deal with commercial and legal risks safely and efficiently. How? Using federated networks for secure and controlled data sharing, you can make sure that data is shared only with the right stakeholders, when explicit permission has been given. Why? In this way, more data can be shared securely, which also makes it easier to achieve your own and societal goals.
