Frank Timmers, Access Business Group, member of the Advisory Board

Frank Timmers is the new member of the Advisory Board of the European Supply Chain Forum since 1 April 2014. His choice to accept the offer, made by prof.dr.ir. Ton de Kok, to join the ESCF board had several reasons. The main reason why Frank was interested in becoming a board member, is because he wants to contribute to the possibility of putting  science and real-life practice together. He believes that the ESCF is the perfect platform for doing this. By doing this, the ESCF makes it possible for its members to stay up-to-date with the scientific research done in the supply chain sector and to be able to show the scientific world what is really going on in the supply chain scene.
Along with this, Frank also sees a great opportunity for the ESCF. He stated: “The mentioned core business of the ESCF is brilliant and we see a lot of enthusiasm among our members, but there are much more potential members who we should convince of the usefulness of the ESCF.”
Besides that opportunity, Frank wants to use his background, which is different compared to the rest of the board, as a possibility to bring in a fresh look. “The board used to consist only of people with a technical background. I on the other hand, have a commercial background. This leads to new insights and discussions.”
Concluding, Frank brings in a new and refreshing point of view regarding current topics within the ESCF and most of all he looks forward to seizing the opportunities ahead.
