About ESCF

Frank Oosterbaan, Dow, member of Advisory Board

"For a major company like Dow Chemical links with university and academia are an absolute must, not only with respect to research on a widerange of supply chain topics, but also to ensure we are in a position to attract , and test, the right future talent. The European Supply Chain Forum together with Eindhoven University of Technology enables us to meet both these requirements. ESCF research not only help us understand supply chain issues and evolving topics, it also helps to accelerate the implementation of solutions, whether in Supply Chain Management or Supply Chain Design.

As well as that, Eindhoven University of Technology has a pool of talented students working in the supply chain field and typically studying current topics. Through various models such as, summer internships, Master's thesis and assistants in development, these students can be used in projects to investigate specific issues for our company in-dept and come up with valuable recommendations and solutions. Of course the ESCF staff also participate in these projects, and as far as we are concerned this gives us access to "free consultancy" from experts with a holistic, industry-wide view of key issues. The various models to interact with students also create the perfect "engagement period" with the students, which enables us to test both their capabilities and their fit with out company.

ESCF also hosts the Annual Forum and different workshops which allow us to get together with other major companies to discuss and brainstorm evolving supply chain topics. Companies from other industries as well as partners like, Logistics Service Providers are also ESCF participants providing valuable insight into their own supply chains but also across entire supply chains."
