Dr. Nevin Mutlu receives the prestigious Marie Curie grant

06 Feb 2018

Dr. Nevin Mutlu, Assistant Professor in the Operations, Planning, Accounting, and Control group in the School of Industrial Engineering, received the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowship (165,599 EUR for 2018-2020). The research grant is provided by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 program (European Union framework program for research and innovation).

The research will focus on developing coordination mechanisms between retailers across different countries in Europe to facilitate a European Digital Single Market, which is one of the top ten priorities of the European Commission. An interdisciplinary modeling and optimization framework will be developed in order to study the dynamics of cross-border alliances between retailers for enhanced cross-border customer acquisition, distribution, and after-sales support. In the long run, a successful implementation of the proposed strategies have the potential to increase cross-border e-commerce engagement in Europe, which will directly benefit 1) retailers by expanding their markets, and 2) consumers to enjoy a wider variety of goods and services.

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions provide grants for all stages of research careers, and encourage transnational and interdisciplinary mobility. Researchers working across all disciplines are eligible for funding. For more information, please visit the website of Horizon 2020
