Bram Westerweel (OPAC Group) wins the ISIR Best Student Paper Award 2018

07 Sep 2018

PhD Candidate Bram Westerweel received the best student paper award at the bi-annual conference of the International Society for Inventory Research (ISIR) in Budapest. The prize-winning paper, entitled “Printing Spare Parts at Remote Locations: Fulfilling the Promise of Additive Manufacturing” is co-authored by Rob Basten and Geert-Jan van Houtum, both from TU/e, and by captain Jelmar den Boer of the Royal Netherlands Army (RNLA). Especially the practical implications of the work, which demonstrates the impact of 3D printing at remote RNLA operations, distinguished the paper from the other two finalists who presented their work in a dedicated session of the conference.
